Several URIDGE, EURIDGE families emigrated to New Zealand. Many thanks to Judith Batt for her co-operation, collaboration, and extensive knowledge of New Zealand genealogical information.

Immigrants to these far off lands were (in alphabetical order):

Pheoby BATHURST née URIDGE emigrated in July 1852 to New Zealand, on the ship "Samarang", together with her seven children. Her eldest daughter, Frances BATHURST emigrated on the ship "Midlothian", also to New Zealand in October 1851. Frances married Thomas Fowler on board. For more information including photographs click here.

Thomas URIDGE and Harriet URIDGE née WOND emigrated on the ship "Howrah" in 1874 to New Zealand, together with their daughter Caroline Sarah URIDGE, and son Thomas URIDGE. All current Uridges in New Zealand are believed to be descendants of Thomas and Harriet.
