Sarah LEWIS was born in 1867 in St. Peters, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire.2,3,4 She was the daughter of Sarah THOMAS.2 In the census of 3 April 1881 at 43 Saint Catherine Street, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, she was listed as aged 13 born in St. Peters Carmarthen, the grand-daughter of David THOMAS; a Carpenter, living with his wife Margret, and son David, grandchildren William LEWIS, and Sarah LEWIS, and [grand] daughter Mary J. THOMAS, and son-in-law Thomas QUIRK, and daughter Sarah QUIRK.3 Sarah married James REES in 1888.5,6 In 1889, Sarah and James REES lived at 43 Saint Catherine Street, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire. James was a Fitter at the Iron Foundry.5 In the census of 31 March 1901 at 57 Catherine Street, Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire, she was listed as the wife of James REES; a Steam Engine Agricultural Fitter.4
