In the census of 31 March 1901 at Horsehill Lane, Batcombe, Somerset, he was listed as a Spar Maker, aged 28 born in Wanstrow, the son of Sampson VEASEY. It was detailed that he was partially paralysed since 13 years of age.6

In 1905, at the time of the birth of their daughter Elsie Muriel Cole, Leonora and Sydney lived at 17 Huxley Avenue, Cheetham, Lancashire, and he was a Commercial Traveller.14
Probably in 1920, Leonora and Sydney Francis had a family group photograph taken with their five children.15 When their grandson, Geoffrey Howard Barker, was christened in 1943-4, it is likely that the family had a family group photograph taken, showing three generations.16
Leonora died on 18 May 1964 in Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire, at the age of 86.5,17
