The ship departed London March 5,1874 and arrived in Brisbane June 9, 1874. Their son William died on the voyage.1

In the census of 3 April 1881 at St. Pancras, London, Richard was listed as the Head of Household; a Carman Grocer, living with his wife and two sons Percy, and Bertie.7 In the census of 31 March 1901 at Camberwell, London, Richard was listed as aged 46 born in Campden Town London, the Head of Household; a House Painter living with his wife Mary, and children Bertie, Alice, Albert, Daisy, Ernest, and Stanley.3
Research Note: Neil Mackley writes "I am descended from Richard John Masters' brother George William (my great grandfather).8"
