John URIDGE was baptized on 6 April 1746 at St. Margarets, Buxted, Sussex.1 He was the son of John URIDGE and Rebecca JEFF.1 He was named as a beneficiary and executor in his father's John URIDGE's will made on 8 April 1781.2,3,4 In 1785, John was the occupier of several properties in Buxted, Sussex:
In Buxted Wood, Tibs Mill for a rental value of £4, and an unspecified property of John Wildish for a rental of £22.
In Highhurst Wood, (unnamed) lands owned by Fuller esq, for a rental of £13.
In Highhurst Wood, (unnamed property), owned by himself that he paid a rental of £2. This would be his house and land of Lime Kiln House (Old Hall Cottage).
Tibs Mill it is believed, was just to the north of Fowley Lane where it crosses the river between Sleeches and Burnt Oak and only just outside the area then considered to be High Hurstwood.
In Highhurst Wood, Turke land, owned by George Medley esq, for a rental of £14. Turke Lands, it is believed, was near Firstead Bank. So John farmed several pieces of land scattered around the village of Highhurst Wood as well as his own small piece of land.5,6,7,8

DADSWELL.9,2,10,11,12 John died in January 1808 at the age of 61.13 John was buried on 18 January 1808 at Buxted, Sussex.14 His estate was probated on 21 June 1808 at Buxted, Sussex.9

The wheelwright shop was just south of the Old Maypole Farm a few hundred yards from Lime Kiln House so Nicholas probably worked there. Now we know Nicholas was definately in High Hurstwood from 1808. In the 1841 to 1861 census Nicholas and family were living at Old Hall (not to be confused with Old Hall Cottage or Old Hall Farm) that had been bequeathed to Henry Uridge, so had Nicholas purchased this from Henry or had Henry sold it when he moved to Fletching? "

John URIDGE was baptized on 23 April 1762, or 5 April 1762 at St. Margarets, Buxted, Sussex.2 He was the son of Thomas URIDGE and Mary (?).1 John married Ann HOUSE.3,4 John died in May 1838 at The Poorhouse, Rotherfield, Sussex, at the age of 76.5 John was buried on 31 May 1838 at St. Danys Churchyard, Rotherfield, Sussex.6

Barbara URIDGE was baptized on 8 March 1768 at St. Margarets, Buxted, Sussex.2 She was the daughter of Thomas URIDGE and Mary (?).1 Barbara URIDGE married Thomas HAZEMORE on 3 November 1788 at Tonbridge, Kent.3,4,5 As of 5 June 1791, Barbara was also known as Barbery HAZEMORE.6 Barbara died on 27 March 1804 at Tonbridge, Kent, at the age of 36.7 As of 27 March 1804, Barbara was also known as Barbara HASMORE.5

Benjamin was also known as Benjamin HERRIS.2 He was baptized on 11 December 1752 at Buxted, Sussex.3 Benjamin married Mary URIDGE, daughter of John URIDGE and Rebecca JEFF, on 2 November 1771 at Buxted, Sussex.4 Benjamin died in March 1772 at the age of 19.5 He was found drowned and was buried on 25 March 1772 at Buxted, Sussex.3
