Mary Ann WEBB was born circa 1823 in Brighton, Sussex. She was the daughter of Thomas & Jane ARSCOTT.1 Mary married George Vincent SMYTH, son of George SMYTH and Sophia URIDGE, in 1851 in the Brighton registration district.1,3,2 Mary died in 1892 at Brighton, Sussex.1

Clarisse Florentine E. MARCHAND was born in 1860 in Marylebone, London.2 Clarisse married George HOLMAN, son of Frederick Stedman HOLMAN and Frances PAYNE, in 1886 in the Lambeth registration district.1,3,4 In the census of 31 March 1901 at Lewes, Sussex, she was listed as aged 41 born in Marylebone, the wife of George HOLMAN (the Mayor of Lewes, living with his wife Clarisse F.E., and son Leslie J. Also listed was a Companion Elizabeth S. DEVIN, two and Visitors, Lily M. E. Ormiston, and James P.D.R. Omiston. George & Clarisse had two servants a Cook, and a Housemaid).2 Clarisse died in 1912 in the Eltham registration district.5
