Ellen SELLERS was born in 1833 in Sturminster Marshall, Dorset.¹ Ellen married William COLE on 5 March 1849.¹ As of 5 March 1849, Ellen was also known as Ellen COLE.¹ In the census of 2 April 1871 at Canford, Dorset, she was listed as the wife of William COLE; a Fitter in the Iron Foundry, living with his wife Ellen, five daughters, and two sons - Emily, Edward, Sarah, Walter, Annie, Edith and Isabel.²

     
Elsie Muriel COLE was born on 25 May 1905 in 17 Huxley Avenue, Cheetham, Lancashire.^1,2 She was the daughter of Sydney Francis COLE and Leonora VEASEY.¹ Probably in 1920, she was in a family group photograph taken with her parents and four siblings.³ Later in circa 1933 Elsie had a portrait photograph taken of herself. Possibly at the same time her sister Hilda had her photograph taken.⁴ As of 1 September 1933, Elsie Muriel was also known as Elsie Muriel BARKER.¹ Elsie married William BARKER, son of William BARKER and Martha BROWN, on 1 September 1933 at St. Mary's Parish Church, Manchester, Lancashire. Witnessed by C. Barker, W. Barker, S.F. Cole, J.W. Parkinson.^1,5 They lived at 34 Finsbury Avenue, Lytham St. Annes, Lancashire. He was the Assistant City Treasurer of Mancehster City Council, and a keen amateur artist.⁶ When her son, Geoffrey Howard Barker, was christened in 1943-4, it is likely that the family had a group photograph taken, showing three generations.⁷

Her husband, William, died on 26 February 1980 at age 76.⁶ Elsie died on 3 November 1982 at Victoria Hospital, Blackpool, Lancashire, at the age of 77.¹

Mabel Ella COLE was born on 18 June 1878 in Kinson, Dorset.^1,3 She was the daughter of Thomas Francis COLE and Annie Potter GRANT.¹ In the census of 3 April 1881 at 50 Newport Street, Ryde, Isle of Wight, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas F. COLE.⁴ In the census of 5 April 1891 at 9 Marlboro Road, Margate, Kent, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas F. COLE.³ Between 1904 and 1910 she had a photograph taken with her mother, and two siblings.⁵
