     Edith Ellen WELLS was born on 12 July 1856 at Bromley, Kent.¹ She was the daughter of Thomas WELLS and Jane Susannah SUTTON.¹ Edith Ellen WELLS was baptised on 5 October 1856 at Bromley, Kent.¹ In the census of 7 April 1861 at High Street, Bromley, Kent, she was listed as the daughter of Thomas WELLS.²

     Alice FUNNELL was born in 1884 at Durham, County Durham.^2,3 She was the daughter of John FUNNELL and Ellen URIDGE.¹ In the census of 5 April 1891 at 63 Wilford Road, Croydon, Surrey, she was listed as aged 7 born in Durham, "adopted" in the household of Edward & Catherine EMERY, an Earth Rivetter from Dover, Kent.^3,1

Research Note: Bob writes: "John FUNNELL, a plasterer, and Ellen URIDGE are shown as the parents of Alice. In the 1881 Census the URIDGE family were living at 32 Springfield, Sydenham and next door at 34 Springfield lived a FUNNELL family with son John aged 13. The father Amos's occupation is shown as Plasterer."^1,4

     Minnie Evelyn WEBB was the daughter of Thomas Uridge WEBB and Louisa TROY.¹

     Raymond Uridge PAYNE was the son of Minnie Evelyn WEBB.¹

     Sarah EURIDGE was baptised in 1672.³ She was the daughter of Richard URIDGE.²
Sarah married William DEANE on 24 November 1698 at Hunton, Kent.^1,4 They were, or became, "Dissenters" attending meetings at Bydews House, Tovil.

They lived at Ridley Court, a Georgian house built by William's father Michael, in 1697. Ridley Court and farm is next to Ridley Church. They had at least 8 children who, because they were strict non-conformists, were all baptised privately in their own home in Ridley - Michael c1699; Thomas c1702; William c1704-1727; Isaac c1703-1709; Richard c1704-1704; Richard c1705-1707; Isaac 1709; and Abia.^5,3

Sarah died in 1721 at Ridley, Kent.⁵ Sarah was probably buried on 19 October 1721 (entry appears to have been erased) at Anna Baptist Burial Ground, Tovil, Kent.⁶
