Gwendoline VEASEY was born on 4 May 1911 in Upton Noble, Somerset.5,3,2,6 She was the daughter of Herbert VEASEY and Margaret REES.3,1 She came from Wales to Yeovil when she was 13 years' old.7 At the time of their marriage in 1930, Gwendoline and Cecil lived at Leigh, Dorset. He was a labourer.4 Gwendoline married Cecil Henry CHANT, son of James CHANT and Sarah Anna BEST, on 22 March 1930 at the Parish Church, Leigh, Dorset, Their first-born died shortly after she was born, however they went on to have another 11 children.1,8,9,4,10,6 Jennifer, her daughter, recalls that her mother told her that when Jenny was born her mother lost all her hair. Jenny was only two pounds and her mother would put her in a shoebox in the window.11 Gwendoline was in a family group photograph taken at their daughter Doreen's wedding in 1954.12 As of 27 June 1958, Gwendoline lived at 22 Matthews Road, Yeovil, Somerset.13 Gwendoline died on 20 July 1974 at the age of 63.8,6

Leonora VEASEY was born on 6 June 1913 in Upton Noble, Somerset.1 She was the daughter of Herbert VEASEY and Margaret REES.1 Leonora VEASEY was educated in 1917 at Frome, Somerset; a private school at the bottom of the hill.1 Leonora was educated in 1920 at a school on the Quayside at Carmarthen, Carmarthenshire.1 Leonora married Jim ADAMS.1 Leonora VEASEY witnessed the marriage of her sister, Gwendoline VESEY and Cecil Henry CHANT on 22 March 1930 at Parish Church, Leigh, Dorset; Their first-born died shortly after she was born, however they went on to have another 11 children.2,3,4,5,6,7 She worked for Marks & Spencers.1 Leonora died on 21 April 2004 at Brighton, Sussex, at the age of 90; Nora went into hospital and during her stay broke her hip. For the last five weeks she was in a nursing home. The family last saw her on Easter Sunday April 11 prior to their holiday in Deveon. Then on Wednesday they return as she was in a coma. She died at 10:00 am on the Wednesday morning. She would have been 90 in June.8
Leonora was buried on 29 April 2004 at Brighton, Sussex.9
