As of between 1792 and 1814, John FUNNELL lived at Maresfield, Sussex; an Agricultural Labourer.2 He was baptised on 18 November 1792 at Fletching, Sussex.1 He was the son of John FUNNELL and Mary Barham SMITH.2 As of between 1814 and 1830, John FUNNELL lived at South Malling, Sussex; a Carpenter.2
John married Catherine URIDGE on 17 September 1814 at South Malling, Sussex.1 The second baptisms of their first three children indicate that John and Catherine changed their religion around 1830 from the non-conformist "Countess of Huntingdon" to the Church of England.2
He was listed in the census of 1851 at Lewes, Sussex, a Wheelwright.2

His occupation : Whitesmith. (A whitesmith is between a blacksmith and a silversmith - he worked with lighter-coloured non-precious metal such as tin or zinc).1

Henry FUNNELL was born on 22 April 1823 at Lewes, Sussex.1,2 He was the son of John FUNNELL and Catherine URIDGE.1 As of 1846, Henry FUNNELL lived at Brighton, Sussex; Lodged with Charles Funnell who was not a brother but may have been a cousin.1
