Reginald Charles EURIDGE

Reginald Charles EURIDGE was born on 7 September 1921 in Burton-upon-Trent, Staffordshire. He was the son of William Harry EURIDGE and Emily Ann HARPER.

After leaving school, he joined the Royal Marines. He spent most of his life in the Marines, serving during and after the war, attaining the rank of Colour Sergeant.

In 1940, Reginald and Kathleen 'Kay' Hilda VEASEY met on Weymouth railway station. Kathleen had dropped her suitcase and the contents had spilled onto the platform, and he helped her to pick them up.

They married in Yeovil on 29 September 1941 and had nine children. In 1953, Reginald and Kathleen and their family of eight children moved to Malta.

In March 1954, the family moved to "Briar Hill", Shutterton Lane, Dawlish Warren and soon became established in the community.

Reginald was tragically killed in a scooter accident on 23 December 1958, at the age of 37. He was buried on 27 December 1958 at Cofton Parish Church, Cockwood, Starcross, Devon.

More information is included in his narrative, together with details of his ancestors.
